Solution

The PHP maximum execution time controls how long a script can run at most before it is forcibly terminated by the server. It's important not to allow excessively long runtimes because scripts will otherwise unnecessarily block many resources. Normal script execution times are in the range of a few milliseconds. If a script takes longer than about 50 ms (0.05 seconds) to render a page, it is quite slow and badly programmed, or it is waiting to deliver data from external sources.

Based on typical script run times of up to 50 ms, the allowed script run time of 120 seconds (2 minutes) on the Bitpalast® ValueWebspace and 360 seconds (6 minutes) in the Bitpalast® Business Booster is an eternity. This long execution time is only intended to safely complete file uploads and data imports, which can sometimes take longer with large files. The default PHP maximum execution time is sufficient for all applications according to experience.

If you still want to change the setting,

1. Log in to the webspace control panel.

2. Click on the PHP icon in the "Websites & Domains" tab and make the desired changes.
