Symptom

• The disk space of your web space account or enduser mailbox is used up. You can no longer store new files. Moving (renaming) files is also impossible. New e-mails cannot be delivered to you any longer.
• You have received an automatic notification that the disk space will be used up soon.

Solution

You must either delete files from your web space account or you must add disk space to the mailbox.

Web space account:
You can try to remove unnecessary files from your web space account. This can be files from your website or other files that you may have stored in your FTP area but which are not part of your website.

Users often use their web space account as a mailbox, too. It is possible that the disk space is not used up by the website content, but by e-mails in your mailbox. IN that case you must delete e-mails from your mailbox using a POP3- or IMAP-client in order to free disk space. It is normally impossible to clear mails from the mailbox by the online webmail client, because for removing files the software will need temporary disk space (which is not available as the mailbox uses up all space already).

If you cannot free enough disk space by removing files or e-mails you can instead upgrade the disk space of your web space account. You can upgrade your account in steps of 1 GB. Simply order the additional disk space using the order form (see link below).

Enduser mailbox:
You can configure the mailbox size yourself. The mailbox can only be as large as the available web space account disk space allows for. To upgrade the mailbox size, log-in to your ControlPanel with the web space account administrator (not with the end user login name) on your server. Click on the "E-Mail" tab and then on the name of the mailbox that you want to edit. There you can change its size.
